A candle is an ignitable wick embedded in wax, or another flammable solid substance such as tallow, that provides light, and in some cases, a fragrance.[1]

| Wax Candles | A wick made of plant fibers that have been coated with bee's wax. |
| Tallow Candles | A wick made of plant fibers that have been coated with the rendered fat of sheep or cows. |
